Everybody is desperate to find out when Murray will return to single’s action following hip resurfacing surgery earlier this year.

For now, the former world No 1 is gradually increasing his strength by playing doubles.

Murray and Williams teamed up for the Wimbledon mixed doubles but they crashed out of the third round this afternoon.

After the match, 23-time Grand Slam winner Williams pointed out her biggest take from their time together.

“Andy gets asked every question about his body and the US Open,” she said.

“Literally every question in a different way, but it’s the same question (smiling).

“It’s great for me because I get to sit here and just look. My thing is just to stay focused and not look like I’m daydreaming.

“But it’s nice because I love him having all the attention. It’s so good. It’s such a relief.”

She then proceeded to mimic journalists by turning her attention to Andy.

“How is your body?” Williams asked.

Murray replied: “Feels good, thanks.”

“Are you going to be able to play New York?” Williams continued.

“I don’t know. I need to train, get stronger. We’ll see. I’m not sure (laughter),” Murray giggled in response.

Last night Murray ruled out returning to singles before the end of the season.

The Scot was considering a comeback at the American Grand Slam but he now feels that may be too soon as he does not want to suffer any further setbacks.
